Where to find good free plugins.

I've searched high and low over the years to find anything thats free that will help me make better music. And fortunately there are a lot of like minded people in internet world that give their work away for free because they can and they want to. Most of these are Mac plugins as I um use a Mac.

Smartelectronix

Possibly the best site for free and donationware software is smartelectronix.com. Home of developers like Bram, MAD and MDSP. These plugins are a necessity for anyone.

Brams Supaphaser and supatrigger are special highlights. Use them play with them carress them.

Also Livecut is another favourite, hard to understand, but easy to get glitched up breaks from.

Another is destroy fx buffer override, same as above but good to play with.

Voxengo

Voxengo do charge for most of their plugins and they are good. They also give away a lot to. The one that I like is MSED, which is a mid/side gain plugin. Span is also a good utility tools to have for frequency spectrum analysis.

TAL tog audio line

TAL make all sorts of plugins from vintage synths, to dub style reverbs and delays. Some awesome free and donationware plugins to add to the free collection. Just downloaded the new Noisemaker. So lets see what that does.

Also big companies like Native Instruments give away products and Ableton Live give you a free 30 day full working trial.

Some other websites with a vast array of free VST and AU Plugins for mainly PC so havent tried them out personally. But give them a go
